Volunteer(s) Wanted for Circle Park

Can you help?

Our neighbor & native plant expert George Macomber has spent years tending the wonderful native plants in our “Circle Park,” the traffic circle on NE 63rd Street at 17th Avenue NE and NE Naomi Pl that so many of us enjoy. Sue Samuelson and George have also taken care of the cleaning up the sidewalks and other Miscellaneous chores in the small garden retreat. George would like to spend more time on the plants and find neighbors who can take over sweeping up the sidewalk. This should be done about once a week (weather dependent) and would likely take less than an hour. You’d need a broom to sweep the walks and bucket to pick up accumulated leaves (or trash) along the edges of the sidewalks. Since the Circle Park has no trash or compost collection, you’d need to put whatever you sweep up in your home containers (or ask a neighbor who has more space available. This volunteer opportunity could be shared and would bring the satisfaction of helping our wonderful neighborhood community!

While this volunteer opportunity does not require plant skills or knowledge, if you are interested in learning more about the native plants in the Circle Park and help with them, let us know too.

If you are interested in helping or have questions, please write to us at info@friendsofravennacowen.org

Thanks!
